Vindictus

Nexon has barely promoted their free-to-play MMO Vindictus, but when you can show off at Comic Con, who needs advertising?

Vindictus runs on Valve’s prized Source Engine and is a bit more brutal than other MMOs.  Blood spurts from wounds, you can use corpses as weapons should you choose, and the action is lightning fast.  Instead of static dungeons (like in World of Warcraft), Vindictus claims its dungeons change each time you enter to prevent boredom.

The story is the people are in a state of despair in a land that is in constant turmoil.  The people huddle in ramshackle towns, hiding from the horrendous beasts that wait to kill them outside.  Every day the people wait and hope that the winged goddess will descend and take them to the land of Erinn, a place of paradise.  In the meantime, everyone’s fighting for their lives.

The main characters are Lann and Fiona.  Lann is a duel sword wielding, quick on his feet guy from the northwest who’s whirlwind of slashes takes down enemies with ease.  He wears light armor at first, but learns to wear heavier stuff later without impeding his movement.  Fiona is more of a tank, wielding her sword and shield with power.  This beauty from the south wears heavy armor, but graduates to plate later.
