Kerrigan Returns In ‘Starcraft II’

Kerrigan

Fans of Starcraft are familiar with Sarah Kerrigan, the marine turned zerg Queen of Blades.  She was defeated in the first game, but this new trailer shows she’s back and ready to finish what she’s started.

The new leader of a new rebellion (is there always a rebellion?) isn’t ready to lead, but fights because “some things are just worth fighting for.”

Not going to lie, this video looks awesome.  Starcraft was an amazing game and Starcraft II looks like it will up the blow its predecessor away.  The graphics are breath taking in this video and the flashbacks to Kerrigan’s capture were enough to make any Starcraft fan giggle.  I think they should just forgo the game and turn this trailer into a fully fledged movie.  I mean look at the Protoss!

Review St. Louis says that if you look at it from an outsider’s perspective (someone who’s not a fan), the trailer is a tad cheesy and will not give out the same effect as it does for a fan.  To test their theory, I sent the trailer to my mother for viewing.  Now, my mother is a self-confessed computer nerd, but her gaming knowledge doesn’t extend much beyond Facebook’s Farmville.  She said the trailer was “beautiful,” echoing my thoughts on the graphic quality.  I’m not sure I could get her playing, but she says she wants to watch any future videos that come out for it.  I’d say that’s an improvement.

Check out the trailer for Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty below.  The game comes out July 27th!
