The wait is finally over and Mozilla has finally released the much anticipated iPhone app Firefox Home. Firefox Home is a browser sync application that allows you to seamlessly integrate your desktop browsing experience with your mobile browsing experience. The free app links your desktop Firefox browser history, bookmarks and even opened tabs with your iPhone.

Installation is completely free, but there are a few steps needed to properly install and link the two systems together.

1 – Open up your Firefox browser and install the free Add-On called Firefox Sync

2 – Restart Firefox and fill out the necessary details to sign up. This includes a password and a secret phrase to ensure security.

3 – Go to the Apple App Store and download Firefox Home for free.

4 – Once installed on your iPhone, open up the application and follow the steps to sync your phone with your browser.

Firefox Home is not a replacement browser for Safari on the iPhone. This app is an integrated web viewer that uses the native browsing software on the iPhone. Although it is not a replacement for Safari, Firefox Home works with it allowing you to access anything through the native OS browser. For contractual reasons, it doesn’t look as though Firefox the browser will be coming to the iPhone any time soon, but Firefox Home is a nice alternative.
