If you’re like me, then the fear of simply losing something outweighs that of something actually getting stolen. In either case, it’s always a good idea to make sure you know where everything is. Keys? Check. Wallet? Check. Phone? Uh-Oh.
Good thing Apple has introduced a brand new app called Find My iPhone that is completely compatible with all versions of the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Find My iPhone works with Apple’s MobileMe network that allows you to sign in to your MobileMe account from anywhere in the world giving you access to everything from personal files to pictures and videos. Find My iPhone is quite simple to use. All you need to begin is a MobileMe account and you’ll be good to go. Once you download the free app, just sign into your account and turn on your Push Notifications.
Then, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you just can’t seem to find your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, simply borrow one from someone else and open up Find My iPhone on theirs. Once you sign in with your own account, the app will show you on a map where your device is.
Keep in mind that for this app to properly work, you will need to have a MobileMe account through Apple. MobileMe accounts cost $99 per year from Apple.
